Meet the Team: Sean Sullivan, the Man Behind these Posts

Here at Philip Gabriel, we are a big family. We wanted to take this time to introduce you to all the people that make your wedding day, commercial projects, family photos, and every other photo shoot absolutely perfect! In this edition we will introduce you to me, Sean Sullivan, the man that has put these posts together. Sean’s role as the newest member of the Philip Gabriel team is editing, processing, and retouching wedding images, creating previews for every wedding that we are lucky enough to be a part of, and some of the social media posting. Let’s see what he said when he interviewed himself.
1: How did you get started in photography?
Every year growing up I went to a lake house for a week with my family. On the walls of the house were amazing photos from all around the world taken by the house’s owner. I spent a lot of time looking at all of the different images of small towns in Nepal, mountains in China, animals in Kenya, and so many other amazing things. All of this made me get a camera and start taking pictures everywhere that I went.
2: If you could go to any concert past or present, what would it be?
I would love to go see Frank Turner play again, but in a smaller, more intimate venue.
3: What’s one thing that you can’t live without?
I can’t live without my car. It gives me the freedom to go wherever I want. It is also a great way to just unwind while driving around backroads out in Chester County farmlands.
4: What would your dream photoshoot be?
My dream photoshoot would be photographing the sardine run in South Africa. I love underwater photography and to see all of those large underwater predators in one spot like that would be amazing.
5: What is one skill that you wish you had?
I wish I could do woodworking. It would be nice to be able to go buy some wood and make something nice that I needed instead of having to go buy it.
6: Do you believe in the Loch Ness Monster? Why? Why not?
No, I don’t believe in the Loch Ness Monster, because Loch Ness is a pretty finite area. If it existed, proving it’s existence would be fairly easy, unlike Bigfoot who could be anywhere.
7: How do you decompress?
I go for long bike rides. Sometimes on the road, sometimes mountain biking, it mostly depends on the weather.
8: What food are you proudest to be able to cook?
A couple of weeks ago I made a delicious Korean Spicy Seafood Soup that had calamari and mussels as well as a bunch of vegetables. It was delicious and I was fairly proud of making it.
9: Where does the perfect road trip take you?
The perfect road trip for me right now would be to do a long loop around the US stopping in as many national parks as I had time for. Arches National Park is probably the highest on my list of national parks that I haven’t been to yet.
10: What kind of cake do you want to eat right now?
A good apple walnut cake would be nice right now.
11: What are your pets’ names? If you don’t have a pet what would you name one?
My wife and I have a pun in Korean planned out to name our first dog whenever we get him/her.
12: Why do you love working for PGP?
PGP is like a family. When one of us has a problem, the others do what they can to help. Last year was a very rough year for me, and the PGP members always made sure that I was doing ok and just made me feel like I was really a part of a team that cares about each other.
