Meet the Team: Amber Kirylak, the Woman Behind the Computers

Posted on April 7th, 2020 in Our Family by Gabe Fredericks

Here at Philip Gabriel, we are a big family. We wanted to take this time to introduce you to all the people that make your wedding day, commercial projects, family photos, and every other photo shoot absolutely perfect! Next up we have Amber Kirylak, our magician behind the screen. Amber does a lot of editing, processing, and retouching! I mean a lot! On top of that, she handles our backups on dropbox, she keeps track of who is doing what for all of the wedding post-production, and she has unofficially become one of our resident IT people. Let’s see what she had to say when asked our series of deep questions!

1: How did you get started in photography?

It was a combination of learning Digital Art in my middle school years, always having a disposable camera in hand and my mother encouraged me to take a Photography class as my Freshman year Elective in High School.

2: If you could go to any concert past or present, what would it be?

My dream is to travel to Japan and attend as many Japanese Rock concerts as possible.  If I can only narrow it down to one, it would be Buck-Tick.

3: What’s one thing that you can’t live without?

This is a tough one, however off the top of my head.  My Mini Cooper “The Hoff”

4: What would your dream photoshoot be?

I would love a chance to have an opportunity to do a promotional shoot for an upcoming movie/film that could be displayed on billboards or marketing displays in movie theaters.

5: What is one skill that you wish you had?

Software Development.

6: Do you Believe in the Loch Ness Monster?

I do not believe in the Loch Ness Monster; however I do believe the Rockness Monster has crazy mad Air Guitar skills.

7: How do you decompress?

Practicing Kung-Fu, Practicing/Competing in Sporting Clays and Reading

8: What food are you proudest to be able to cook?

Porter House/T-Bone/Ribeye/NY Strip/Filet Cut Steak, Rare with a side of greens and mashed potatoes.

9: Where does the perfect road trip take you?

To a place where I can put my phone away and enjoy the moment.

10: What kind of cake do you want to eat right now?

I am not really a cake person.  The last slice I had was a Chocolate Mocha cake and it was pretty good.

11: What are your pets names? If you don’t have a pet what would you name one?

Looking into adopting a black cat in the future.  If it is a female: Bazinga!, Male: Belthazar

12: Why do you love working for PGP?

I love working with a team of people whom we share a common interest and have the passion and drive to continue to succeed and grow.  I also love the opportunity to have a career that allows me to utilize my post production/retouching skills and have fun with every project.
