Three Stunning Philadelphia Weddings for One Beautiful Family!

Philadelphia is well known as the City of Brotherly Love, but after all three Sherrin sisters got married in Philly, they should change it to the city of sisterly love!

Four years ago, we photographed Lindsay and Zach’s big day at the former Four Seasons Philadelphia. Since then, it has been transformed into the Logan Hotel, and we’ve had the pleasure of visiting this new and improved space to photograph Jamie and Jonathan’s wedding, followed by Emily and Josh’s big day.

Each wedding was unique, and so are their love stories:

“Zach and I met when we were 19 years old while working at Camp Ramah in Nyack, NY. Our friendship quickly blossomed into a relationship that unfortunately was long distance for several years. We visited each other as often as we could before finally studying abroad together in London during our second semester of Junior year. We spent three incredible weeks backpacking through Europe before returning to the states. Finally, after 10 years of dating Zach proposed on August 24, 2013 at our favorite place in the city, Riverside Park. We were married on August 10, 2014 in a beautiful outdoor ceremony at the then Four Seasons Hotel.”

“Jonathan and I met through two mutual friends in New York City. We were both in very transitional stages in our lives and were nervous about being set up on a blind date. We went out for a first date in March of 2011, Jonathan was 30 minutes late, and the theme continues to this day. Jonathan proposed in March 2016 at the same restaurant and table we had our first date at 5 years before. We then tied the knot on October 8, 2017 after he completed his masters degree.”

“Josh and I met during our Sophomore year in the business school at Syracuse University. We were both studying abroad halfway across the world and received summer internships at Unilever’s headquarters in NJ. This is when our friendship truly started to blossom, which was very exciting since I had a big crush on Josh at the time. When we returned to campus Senior year we began dating, and from then it was history! We shared a lot of the same interests and both landed full time jobs at Unilever in 2012 and have worked there ever since. Josh and I are true UniLOVERS, dating for 7 years before tying the knot on September, 2nd 2018.”

Over the past 5 years we have come to know the Sherrin family well, and love how close they all are to one another. So, it is no surprise that each wedding day began with them getting ready together surrounded by family and friends, and a first look with dad!

From there, each couple shared a romantic first look together, and we can still feel the joy and excitement when we look back at their photos.

One thing that was noticeable throughout all three weddings were the traditions of their family and faith. For Lindsay and Emily, this included the Tish and the Bedeken ceremonies, and for all it included the Ketubah signing as well other family traditions. It is so beautiful to see how each couple uniquely incorporated these special customs into their wedding days.

After the ceremony came the stunning receptions! With the help of the talented Carl Alan Floral as well as perfect ambience lighting from EBE and Shipley Enterprises, each couple transformed the beautiful ballroom to make it their own.

The whole evening was filled with love, family, and lots of dancing, thanks to the incredible EBE bands Dreamtime and LA Starz! The team at Philip Gabriel Photography, along with all the other amazing event professionals, have been honored to work with the Sherrin family over the years celebrating love at the Logan. After hosting all three of their weddings there, it was only appropriate that they renamed the Grand Ballroom the “Sherrin Family Ballroom” for the evening!

From first looks to last dances, each wedding day was filled with laughter, fun and so much love. It has been our pleasure to capture all three of the Sherrin family weddings, and we are excited to be a part of many more amazing memories to come.
