Five Mitzvah Themes to Knock Your Socks Off

Posted on June 13th, 2015 in Mitzvahs, Weddings by Gabe Fredericks

In addition to all of the gorgeous weddings we photograph, we also get the opportunity to document some really fun and special Bar and Bat Mitzvahs.

Given the chance to shine, we’ve seen some memorable Mitzvahs from some creative design teams and ambitious hosts. We love seeing the work of designers like Dalsimer Spitz & Peck, Evantine, and Kim Rosen Events who blow us away at these event.

Check out these five events – and be inspired for your next Bar or Bat Mitzvah!

Naturally Sami

Sami’s theme was inspired by a photo shoot with us in Longwood Gardens and different fixtures they liked there, especially the gazebo. After that, her mother worked tirelessly with Evantine to create a design that incorporated some of things they loved about the gardens.

The theme was also a reference to Sami’s naturally sweet character which we saw very quickly and loved photographing!

Emily’s Grilled Cheese Celebration

Emily and her family decided on an intimate family luncheon after her Bat Mitzvah and before her party. We love that she chose a grilled cheese restaurant with an artsy vibe.

The grilled cheese and salad were so much more exciting when served on their own personal cast iron pans and nifty retro boats! Loved this cool place and photographing this fun family.

Bailey’s Blast

An incredible event put on by Kim Rosen Events, “Bailey’s Blast” had a million clever ideas to incorporate the idea of a hair dresser. Our personal favorites are the M&M’s put in the hair dresser’s wash sink and the bobby-pin place cards, but there were many others we loved.

It’s amazing to see all the details this incredible team put into coordinating and creating this event. The decorations really blew us away!

Jessica’s Garden Party

Hosted at an awesome location, The Horticulture Center at Fairmont Park, the greenhouse provided a beautiful backdrop for Jessica’s Bat Mitzvah celebration. All the natural light coming in through the glass ceiling really made the pictures pop, as well as the natural theme with a sassy twist. Dalsimer Spitz & Peck did an awesome job balancing the two.

At the party, a food artist created Dragons out of gum candy and “Silent Storm” headphones that were given out on the dance floor. These were both really cool details. We also loved the all white dance floor and the lockers used for Jessica’s friend’s gifts. The party was a blast and looked amazing. Check out the other details from the night!

Justin’s Campout

Another Kim Rosen Event, Justin’s Campout featured everything from flashlight table cards to a campfire and marshmallow centerpieces. One of our favorite ideas was the forest overhang above the dance floor, accented with lamps to create a twinkly effect. The tables were numbered as “bunks” and there was a build-your-own trail mix station!

This event was tons of fun and gorgeously decorated. We loved all the little creative ideas that pulled this theme together!
